  1. IMPORTANT NOTICE

  3. The full version of Cavern Duel will be released sometime in November or
  4. December. We will be releasing it as freeware, as we realise that is not
  5. up to the high standard that Acorn games players deserve, thus making it
  6. difficult to justify giving it a price tag, whether it be a commercial or
  7. shareware product.
  8.  
  9. When the full version is released, it will be the last. Since 1993, when
  10. development started, the time devoted to it has become less and less,
  11. and it has now reached the point where it is not worth doing any more.
  12.  
  13. However, we do plan to totally rewrite the game, and give it a better
  14. look, probably calling it Cavern Duel 2. This way, we can chuck out the
  15. code that has been used so far, and try and experiment with better
  16. programming techniques, or even using Andy Southgate's Gamesuite modules.
  17. But do not hold your breath in waiting for this sequel, as it may be as
  18. late as the latter end of 1998 or early 1999 before it sees the light of
  19. day, depending on what time we have. We'll both be finishing either our
  20. degrees or A levels next year, so until then, time will be scarce!

  22. In the meantime, enjoy playing this demo, as it is the last demo release
  23. update, before the full one comes out. It will have been released far
  24. more widely than before, so we hope that more of you will send in some
  25. suggestions as to what to put into the full version. Some comments may
  26. make it, some may not, but we thank you in advance for supporting us,
  27. and we look forward to hearing from you. The contact details can be found
